Healthy Schools
We are pleased to announce that we received accreditation as a 'Healthy School' in July, 2014 and 'Enhanced Healthy Schools Status' for Emotional Health and Well Being in 2015 .
At Manorfield C E Primary School, we recognise the importance of meeting the health and wellbeing, as well as the academic needs of its children and young people.
There is a well-established correlation between health and educational achievement, as well as pupil behaviour. Schools play an important role in supporting the health and wellbeing of children and young people. By working with parents we can work together to raise children’s awareness of the importance of good health and wellbeing and how they can achieve this by making healthier choices, ensuring they get the best start in life.
As part of the healthy schools initiative we had an activity day where children had the opportunity to start to explore healthy lifestyles. This was a springboard to integrating a healthy schools approach in every day school life.
We have continued to develop the curriculum to include opportunities to prepare healthy foods and snacks.
We work with parents and children to provide them with information and experiences to develop their understanding of keeping healthy.
