Spellings

As you will know the new curriculum was released in September 2014. Along with this there is a year 3/4 compulsory spelling list. All year 3 have been given this list of words to stick in the back of their reading record. We are not asking for children to learn these words as they will be given them throughout the year as spellings.

Maths and Reading

Year 3 will have the choice to go online and play maths games. These games will be based on the learning we are doing in school. All children will have their log in stuck in their reading records. The website to access these games is www.activelearnprimary.co.uk.

Also on this log in they will find reading books. Where you see a picture of a bug you can click on it. This will present a question for you to answer about the book.

Echo the Eco Bear

At Manorfield we encourage children to think about the world we live in and how we can protect and look after it.  Echo the Eco Bear has come to help the children carry out environmental challenges.

Activities they could do together

  • Recycling
  • Walking to school instead of using the car
  • Litter picking
  • Washing up in the sink instead of using the dishwasher
  • Making bird feeders
  • Turning off lights and tablet chargers when not in use.
  • Use the library to learn about nature areas and how to look after them

Echo also loves doing fun things with the family too if you cannot manage an environmental challenge.
