Welcome to Year 1

The Year one Team are:  Miss Smith - Teacher, Mrs Stringer - Teacher, Mr Kitchener - Teacher, Miss Kettle & Mrs Bailey - LSA's  & Mrs Paling - Senior LSA

 

Children in Year 1 pupils follow a structured programme to develop increasing independence in their work and play. They are now ready to move away from the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum, into a fantastic world of new learning curriculum areas.

Maths Plan

From January 2017 we will be following a new Maths long term plan.  It will start with Spring on the table attached.  Please click to view.

Reading in Year 1

In Year 1 pupils to develop their phonic knowledge using the 'Read, Write, Inc.' scheme.

Pupils also read from a number of reading schemes including; Oxford Reading Tree, Rigby Star and Project X. 

In Autumn term 2014 the school introduced Bug Club which has enabled the pupils to access books through various ICT sources, such as; computers, ipads and kindles.
